Salmon-leather panels - Fishleather in the leading role

Atlantic Leather produces three varieties of salmon-leather panels, thus offering larger units, making salmon leather an ideal material for use in leather design and production. Hitherto fishleather has mostly been used on a small scale and as a decorative feature on garments, but with the launch of panels salmon-leather is in a leading role, where it belongs. Skins are trimmed and sewn to form panels of fixed sizes, so that efficient and economical use can be made of the material, saving designers and producers both time and trouble.

Products and sizes:
Salmon-leather panels are produced in three varieties:

Parallel panels:
Each skin is trimmed to a standard rectangular shape, and these are sewn together, forming a regular pattern. Parallel panels are produced in size 65x75cm.

Triangle-pattern panels:
Each skin is trimmed into an elongated triangular shape, reflecting the tapered form of the skin. The pieces are placed in alternating directions and sewn together. Triangle-pattern panels are produced in sizes 60x80 cm and 30x60cm

Fish-pattern panels:
In this case the skins retain their irregular natural form, and are sewn together in an alternating pattern, similar to the triangle-pattern panels. Fish-pattern panels are produced in size 40x60cm.
